This is a test of tilt shift. Better light would have made it more impressive but it was raining in Australia.
Anyway this shift from still is not as far as you may first think. This was taken using a 7D on high speed continuous, however this was to fast and i removed every other frame. In future use 3fps shooting.
Well it started with such promise, however the vortex was fairly uninspiring. After walking around and running from the rats i played around in the vortex. I really feel that a good shot here needs the fish eye lens, or a lot more thought on lighting. I also have a tendancy to under expose as the screen on the camera is far to bright. Must change that.
Exposure:s10s Aperture: f/5.6 ISO: 800 Focal Length: 10 mm
Whilst on holiday in byron bay i thought i would dablle at sporty shots. Heres a couple of my efforts. I would like to say i did have the wrong lens and yes i was going for an overexposed old type grainy look. You know the old 60 surfing thing.
Well full of hope we travelled out to wivenhoe in search of sunsets and glorious daytime photography, which is novel to all of us. And before we get started i just wanted to say i do not take pity shotgun.
Anyway we were looking for a nice sunset shot and whilst i liked the location i found the photos were pap. the sunset turned out to be nothing. So it is not first. My surprise favourite shot is all three of us sitting on the log. PS thanks for getting me wet.
Well Sven finally got us to the forbidden spillway, an amazing concrete structure. I have to admit sven that yeah i am actually impressed with this one. photos without props however could be a bit difficult so wire wool was used. The results i feel were quite good. I had not done this before and i feel that if you did this to many times they would start to look the same.
Sven maybe you fish eye under some glass looking directly up might make a nice change of perspective.
Well i went with a certain idea in my head of using seringes and making something a bit gritty, we went to an abandoned warehouse which was great and inspired my mind into actually doing something, good find whoever found this one. Below is the first in a series of 3. I have only seen this one so far, an it has captured what i was trying to go for. I am enjoying the ability to paint light with flashes and create hard and soft light.
After this we went to a dock which was a lovely walk and a nice place but i feel as though my inspiration had been zapped, so i took no photos.
Tonight we went to another abandoned building and i was truly uninspired, the build was so crapped out that it really was not safe due to the asbestos. So i took the following shot of a church over the road. Nice and stereotypical.
PS. parking the cars outside of the police training camp was a nice touch.
